About the Author

Shannon M. Russell has been a teacher for fourteen years. She currently teaches English at Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Florida. There she also serves as a union representative for the teachers union. Originally from the Detroit Metro area, she has taught in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida where she currently resides in Atlantic Beach. Shannon graduated from Central Michigan University in 1995 with a B.S. in Education. With a major in English and a minor is journalism, she has been writing all of her life. Similarly, she also learned the value of money at an early age and has developed a fondness for learning how to save while also sharing with others the art of saving. In addition to her “hobby” of saving money, Shannon also enjoys organic gardening, cooking, reading, writing, singing, antiques, art, surfing the internet (more reading), and just about anything that gives her an excuse to be outdoors, under the sun, and near the water.
